OK, my friends. No more movie spoilers, please. I’d like to watch it not knowing everything that will happen ahead of time.

With the body in place my son is touching up the fiberglass in
preparation for the first coat of primer. He’s doing a great job and
showing me a few tricks along the way. There are a few spider web cracks but for the most part it’s just
plugging chips and nicks. There are a few places where the fiberglass
is rippling and he’s filling those in a…[Read more] -

Roy,Thanks for asking. My TD is still held hostage by the future ex-wife. I have not had access to it since February 2011.It’s sitting with a bad engine, with a 1776 long block on the floor of the garage. The long block has been sitting for a couple months longer than the TD. And I’m concerned there may be internal corrosion that is going to mean…[Read more]

I’ll say 8500 takes it. It would be a fun rod to have tho.

I agree, it was all about the car. If I remember right, after the fire they then shoved it in a pond. Still one of our fav movies.

Bidding ends tomorrow. Currently at $6500.BTW, as rad as this one is, I like Mark’s better, and not just because it’s a replica, and a chebby…I think the original dash layout on these cars is too nice and should not be substantially messed with. The inset dash on this rod, though well-executed, violates that principle. Something feels wrong to…[Read more]

Those side panels are almost flat, no? I’m thinking a good metal man could make a pair out of aluminum. Get ’em louvered as original. Attach them with four of those quarter-turn aircraft fasteners.Still won’t be a “sleeper” though….

I think Albert Finney’s character made her not like the movie. The car wasn’t in enough scenes to make up for it. After it caught fire, it was all down hill from there.

Thanks for thinking of me, but I wasn’t overly pleased with the cut out in my hot rod fenders that I have now. The only cars I’ve had with no engine hood were model cars I glued together (with an open window, thanks, Mom). I’m getting used to the look now, but secretly wish it was a real sleeper.
