Here, here, Mr. Mossberg. You’re truly a benevolent dictator, and a gentleman, and a scholar.

“the whole fatass ignition switch/turn signal/highbeam switch mechanism which clamshells around your VW steering shaft” – you really do have a way with words Ed. Ever think about writing?

MG TD steering wheels have a keyed fitting for the shaft. VW Bugs have splined shafts. Early and late differ, but I’m not sure how.So getting a TD wheel on a Bug steering shaft means finding a way to mate the keyed fitting to the splined shaft. Depending on the diameters, it might be as simple as cutting the bug shaft for a tap-in key and grinding…[Read more]

Full or Satin?? What’s the difference? Got me – and my wife doesn’t know either. How ’bout we go with Sheri’s recommendation? (She didn’t ask me that this morning.)

I heard back from Grant.
The Grant model 1057 has a 14/3/4 inch diameter and a 3 1/2 inch dish., I thought it was flat.
And in reponse to a follow-up, they do not have anything similar with zero or minimal dish.Double.

Ed’s the source for adapting the MG wheel.
Stock VW shocks. Nothing fancy, no gas shocks. There have been many discussions here about VW suspensions. The accepted best-practice is stock shocks. -
