Oh, and don’t forget to include some pictures. After you log in, go to the bottom of the thread, where it says “Post Reply” and in the top row, second from the right is a tree with an arrow. Hit that one and it will ask what pic you want to load. I forget what size you can load but I load small 480×640’s and it works well.

Hi Rod & welcome to the forum. I will jump in here for Paul our site administrator and ask that you go to this topic and log yourself and your TD in: https://tdreplica.com/forum2/forum_posts.asp?TID=620&P N=1
The more info you fill in, the better. …and don’t worry about your TD needing “some work”. It always will, which is at least half…[Read more] -

What made you want to switch to that, instead of the usual Solex 30 or 34 PICT?

I don’t know what that looks like or how it hooks up, but if you can do that to adjust it, can’t you leave it that way? Maybe you had it on backwards to start with? Maybe once it’s set right, they don’t want you to play with it anymore.

Do you mean flat towing the car on a trailer? Or with the VW tow bar? Because of the shape of our cars (very little frontal exposure except for the leading edges of the fenders and the grill and headlights) I can’t see much damage from kicked up gravel or stones on the road towing it with the tow bar. I would think that practically all of it…[Read more]

Cheap temporary alternative. New cars come with a static cling paper adhered to all horizontal surfaces. See if the guys who do new car prep at your local car dealer will scarf you a sheet or two. Cut to fit.

Speedster guys say bras are a bad idea–trap grit & mar the paint maybe? But there’s a clear plastic coating a lot of them use & swear by. Apparently you can’t really see it unless you know it’s there. Needs careful application by a pro or dedicated and patient amateur. I believe it’s called . . . clearbra. But there might be other brands.(This is…[Read more]

John,
Larry is right about the studs on the medallions. I used Mcmaster carr part# 9716K52 which is a spring type washer that will hold tension on the medallion and keep the rattle out. The medallions from Moss Motors look very nice. It should be an easy change out to put them on your car. -

Thank you all for your kind words, those you wrote here and those sent to me privately.
I’ve shared your prayers with my dad. He was touched that so many were praying for our family.
Mom was interred yesterday evening in a columbarium at my parent’s church.
Our memorial service is Saturday, Jan 14th. Going to be a long day tomorrow. -

I have not seen bras for our replicas.
I have seen bras on original TDs, they pretty much just cover the leading face on the fenders. But I checked Moss Motors, Abingdon Spares and Little British Car Company and did not find them.PMOSSBERG40921.5699074074 -

Remember to go slower on gravel and she wont get too much tossed up off the road. And those aren’t scars….they’re character marks.

Gravel is a problem. I’m towing with a little Mercury Mariner that I will have some sort of skirt or flaps on. I’m trying to figure that out also. But, that being said, while I want to keep my car as nice as possible, I do not want to keep it in a hermetically sealed package that only gets opened long enough for me to polish it. I’m gonna use…[Read more]
