john,
As i’m looking at your car i noticed that the top doesn’t match the interior seats ,Im assuming that the boot and the side curtains matches the top and the carpet matches the interior seats. That is the way mine is.I was thinking about changing the top and boot to match seats. Now i’m wondering.I wouldn’t change it if i thought this is the w…[Read more] -

The old Harley antipathy to rice rockets may be dying off, but very slowly. I think some of the vitriol came about with the Suzuki Shadow and Kawi Vulcan–bikes designed to look enough like a Hog that guys would be fooled from across the street. And they were despised by those guys mainly, I think, because they’re better bikes. Many were the…[Read more]

I think the reasoning is lost in time and goes back to the vets of the 1940s as Harley people would not even consider a Jap. bike owner worthy of even talking to . British bike owners were OK BMWs were far and few between..I had bought a Kawasaki as a kid and had to tell my father that it was a Polish bike !!!so I would be able to keep it..He…[Read more]

Rick, I’m sure that if you do it, it’ll be 100%. You could tow it and leapfrog up (it’d total about 1200 miles). If you don’t have a VW towbar, you’re missing out. You’d be welcome to spend the night on my lilly pad here in New Bern. I plan to tow mine up on Friday.

The Carlisle Show Field is NOT judged. You will see all sorts of cars on the field, from rusted drivers to non-driven show cars. Most of the attendees with the Speedster Group are “couples”. But not all. Purely your choice.

I would love to go but I’m pretty sure that, even if I have the car together and running, it won’t be 100%. Plus, that’s a pretty long drive from Clearwater, FL right off the jack stands. I think I’ll prove her in for a year then join you in 2013.Sure wish I could be ready though.Have fun.

One of our guys has a set. I seen a 14-inch set on a cool old squareback too–supposedly off a Porsche.Dayton Wires says they’ll make ’em if we want. Just takes money.Pretty sure I’m keeping the old steelies for a few years more, at least.

Correct me if I’m wrong, MGLondon, but I think I pulled one just like it from a late ’90s Nissan Altima last year. It’s 15 by 6 inches with a 4 x 114.3mm bolt pattern. AKA 4 x 4.5 inches, which is the same, I believe, as the MGA and MGB. (Also the Corvair, four-bolt Chevy Nova, early Mustang, etc. etc.)See Nissan fitment guide here. See universal…[Read more]

MGs of Baltimore club guys are cordial (they did use a photo I sent from the Rocks show in their November newsletter–pdf here), but they’re not overly friendly so far. I’ve not parked near enough to “real” MG guys at a show to test them like you did, but I suspect a few might be a little snooty. Understandable, since some of them have a lot of…[Read more]

It sounds like it.
My TD has the high beam indicator on the left headlight shell.
Forgive me for asking the obvious, but is it wired into the lighting circuit? -
