I’d like to reverse the belly. Mine insists on poking out towards the steering wheel.

Larry, that sounded like a nice solution, using the pre-existing hole for the mirror mount as well as the windshield.I found these on ebay and mounted them similar to what stacks did. They match the mirrors and stalks that are up on the front fenders.http://www.ebay.com/itm/200313736624?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:I T&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

I put a motorcycle mirror on my London Roadster. I used a die to extend the threads further up the mirror shaft. Then I tapered one side of a nut [made it look like a small lug nut] and ran it up on to the new threads on the mirror shaft. I then removed the lower windshield frame bolt and enlarged it enough to allow the mirror shaft fit thru it…[Read more]

I’ll bet the horn didn’t honk when you pressed the horn button in the steering wheel because one of the two or both steering couplers (rag joints) didn’t have the necesary ground wire from one side of the joint to the other. I’ll have to order an MG horn button from MG Magic.

I used a Honda motorcycle mirror on mine. I made a simple bracket that mounts to the slot in the fold down windshield. I used a 1″ x 1″ piece of L shaped aluminum about 2″ long, drilled two holes for mounting. I think you can see it on the calendar shot.

Is your engine compartment closed off with a firewall or tin up front? That needs sound insulation more than the rear deck lid because, at least in my car, that’s where most of the noise enters the passenger compartment from, from behind and through the rear storage area. With my top down and folded up in there, it greatly muffles the noise. and…[Read more]

Pretty cool! A “reverse dish” wheel! Another creative, simple and inexpensive solution.

Pretty creative solution!
And you could hang a cup holder off the vertical handle! -

I’m gonna try it. Looks simple enough. Remember when they were called “emergency brakes”? I just can’t reach the stock lever. In an emergency, – fuggedaboudit.

Looks real good Stacks. It appears they did a quality job.
I gave the carpet samples to a local place (Over The Top) and they are making my set. I finaly decided on black carpet. Was thinking really hard on red but that’d be too much red. And I’m using white vinyl with red piping on the sides so my set only ran me $220. I’ll post some pics wh…[Read more] -

If it’s not a stuck PCV valve & blown-off breather, it’ll be probably the valve cover gasket. Cork is actually good for those; don’t over-tighten them. I used to use a little spreader thing on mine to spread the force. Then I scored a pair of finned aluminum cal custom covers and my leak issues were over.Hard to find those new now. The old…[Read more]

Drat these short daytime hours of Winter. The engine has reportedly been re-built, and by the time I got it home, it was time to cover it up for the night, too dark to look at it. I won’t have time in daylight to look at it until Saturday, and that is scheduled for the VW motor rebuild.
I’ll try to get some photos of it posted this weekend. -
