You really need to post more and better pictures, please. What motor is installed? What is missing (seats, top, gauges, etc)? What needs to be done to bring from your 90% to 100%? Do you have clear title? What is your asking price?

I’m nearing completion of a Ford based Fiberfab kit and find that the front end is sitting a bit low. I measure 7″ frame to floor at the front and 8″ at the rear. There is only about 1″ clearance between top of front tire and outer edge of the front fender. So I was planning to do something about raising the front end and I like the idea of…[Read more]

Royal,I’ve seen those, not in person, but the same web site. The cut out looks proper for the frame on my Duchess. They will probably fit your frame. But at least on my car, they would interfere with the side curtains, which snap along the outside of the windshield frame.

I got my wind wing set this spring (I think, maybe summer) from Ponce. He’s in the member’s section up on top.. At the time I think he had some more. Worth a try.
And yes there are 6 (I think) members located in FL. Check the TD Registry. newkitman40880.4786226852 -

It’s hard for me to imagine that no one has tried these brackets for mounting either side mirrors or wind wings http://www.bandkmfg.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_24 &products_id=77
Come on guys. Will they fit on my Daytona MiGi? They sure look like they are made for it. -

What would be really fun is to have one of those huge red novelty keys on a suction cup that VWs used to have and temporarily attach it to the back of the spare tire. I believe wind actually made the key turn.
Has anyone seen any of those keys?

Think this was the set that came with a Speedster kit, yes?If so, it’d be a drop-in for a VW-based TD.

They appear to never have been used. There is a bunch of dust and dirt around the bezels, I did a quick wipe down. They look brand new. The chrome is very shiny.
The Fuel gauge comes with a sender, unk what the ohm range is.
The speedo is mechanical. I don’t have a cable for it but it has the standred sqaure drive, and my local speedo shop said…[Read more] -

You will be surprised at how much noise can pass through a small hole. Close up all the gaps while you install sound deadening material.
Eastwood sells sound deadening material that is only.063″ thick yet cuts road noise from 104 – 99 db. It’s pricey at $149.99 for 33.75 square feet. It even comes in a spray.

This is my chevy V8 283 Cubic Inch matched to at least 283 hp, bored out to .060?, paired with a Chevy turbo 400 auto transmission and a Nissan 260 Z rear end. Unfortunately, the weakest part in my mind is the front end, said to be from a 1982 Chevy Chevette. What a mut!

Marc Lipsius replied to the topic Engine noise in the forum VW Based Kits 13 years, 5 months ago
It’s probably heat and moisture resistant but being that thin, I don’t know how much sound deadening it will give. But for $34 and being easy to apply, maybe 2 layers to cover the rear area in front of the engine might work, doubling the sound isolation between the metal and foam layers.
