Allen, compare the dimensions of that water tank to this….Classic Roadsters Ltd. provided a fiberglass box that sits up front, behind the grill. It holds 150 pounds of sand. I know. I filled it and had to manually lift it across those broad fenders over the side panels and gently lower it into the trunk. The dimensions:11 inches front to back16…[Read more]

If you need some more funding for something else in the club let us know. I’ll be very happy to pitch in. And everyone on this club should get the TDReplica.com badge for their TD. Excellent way to support AND promote the club.

Back in the day VW ran a winter ad that featured a snowplow driver.

You do have chains, don’t you? I used them on my 71 Super Beetle. It was the fastest car in Westchester County when it snowed.

Green with ENVY!
Car shows are not exactly scheduled in the northeast this time of year.
In fact, they are predicting 6 to 10 inches of snow where I live in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania this weekend! -

Kit manufacturers used to provide a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) with their kits (sometimes anyway) but I didn’t get one with my kit and I don’t know what info was on an MSO. The paper that came with mine was the shipping label with the kit date and the kit serial number. newkitman40843.7156481482

I don’t know if the new owners have the same info, but when I first bought from MGMagic they gave me some of the history of my car. I got first and subsequent owners and the year of the kit. Might be worth a try.

Paul, Thanks for doing the research and as soon as winter is here and company leaves and Thanksgiving and Christmas are history, I will go back and get MIGI properly titled and registered.
My real question was if we were to line all the TD replicars up alphabetically by height and year (kit year I guess) what would it look like? Maybe this in…[Read more] -

Paul, I know you are right!! When I talked to him on the phone to set up the apointment, he told me that the car had to be ”operational” for the inspection so I got everything working expecting a ”mechanic type” person to show up,put on coveralls and perform a real inspection of the car.
When he arrived ,a day early, he was driving what l…[Read more] -

Getting close to firing her up! Removed the gas tank and cleaned it out. It’s going back in tomorrow. I installed all new tune up stuff today. I will probably remove the dash tomorrow and build my own replacement. I want to find a real nice piece of Mahogony or something with a beautiful grain. I have a cabinet shop that will jig out the perimeter…[Read more]
