Saturday weather forecast = 76 and sunny. Any takers for a re-scheduled Stoney’s run?

Your son is an artist. I’d love to be able to just watch and ask a few questions while he works. Keep going and keep posting. You’re doing great.Uh, one thing about those torsion springs though: I believe you will have to mess with them. Once the kit’s all assembled, the front of your car will be much lighter than a stock Bug. You’ll have too much…[Read more]

I know they were a factory option on the Lafer, and almost made an offer on one for sale in Norman, Okla., awhile back. But it was white, and I finally decided it wouldn’t get all that much use down here. Maybe a boat shop could make one?

Look in oldfartfighter’s photo gallery to see pictures of a TDreplica with a hard top. I saw one on E-bay a few months ago that was more rounded in the back but did not have quarter windows.I also remember seeing a Classic Roadster Duchess brochere with yet another style but I have never seen an actual top in person.

I’ve seen removable hardtops for A’s and B’s, but not T’s.
Was one made? It’s not in any of my books. -

I had a Land Rover with a similar problem. I drove it so little that the orifice in the bottom of the float chamber would grip the needle and pull it out of the float fork. It would allow a little fuel past the needle. I could drive for a minute or two on level ground but I’d eventually run out of fuel. Pressure in the line would fill the ch…[Read more] -

Why do you want to pull the engine?

That’s looking really nice, nice to see you can actually do that so well to restore a rusted out frame. And nice to see you are spending so much “quality time” with your son. He does nice work. You know he is going to want to borrow the car when it’s all done, right?

They use to make a product called “Tire Black” for painting white walls. I used it back in ’69 and worked great. It may have just been some type of black paint but stayed on with no bleed through in the 2 years I had the car. Just another option.

No Body said they were smart, I picked up the car in Florida an it was raining like crazy when they put the tires on and I did not look till I hit a motel in Tennessee, it cleared the fenders barely, but not the body when you made a tight right turn. They said they would not be responsible for the body damage, at least I got the right tires.

Thanks Paul. I planned on using that only as a last resort. Really want a good set of Michelin black walls.

Just one thought Allen…I’ve seen guys try the “reverse mounted” whitewalls. It is amazing how MUCH the white sticks out, even tho it’s facing the inside of the car. I highly recommend trying to avoid that approach if you can.

My neighbor towed her home from the fiberglass repair shop that was too expensive for me to consider, and once I got home this past Thursday, the engine started up and seemed to sound and run better. But it didn’t stay running and had to be restarted a few times, just to move it over in the driveway so we could pull the engine the next day.

The title from the seller arrived in today’s mail. The shipper called me yesterday to confirm the pickup address. I’m excited.
