Yep, StayFast is the way to go if you have the extra bucks. Like you, I first considered vinyl, but with my wife’s encouragement ended up with the cloth. No regrets.Nice color choice, too.

You have framed side curtains, yes?Ed, there is a flap sewn above the door that is supposed to slip over the side curtin top to prevent water from sliding off the roof and into the window. I don’t know how this will work as I have never had the side curtins in. In fact I thought about leaving them off the new top at…[Read more]

I wish I could afford a day off. I’m only 5 weeks into my new job and don’t have paid time off yet. I will have to wait until after work and then decide if I will go to the meeting I’ve been planning on tonight for a few months, or stay home with my new gal and take her for a spin.
I got lucky with the timing of the car cover. It arrived la…[Read more] -

Paul, I checked out the Grant website and it looks like they may have what I need. I will give them a call.
Bill, I bought a Dash Decal Set Self Adheasive OEM Style CMC SSK/TD from MG Magic Inc. for $8.95. They went on very easy and look great. -

I ended up with an enclosed single bed trailer towed by a one ton truck, sharing a ride with a Model A, also destined for Phoenix. The ending bid was about the same as my original bids were to haul it in a multi-car open carrier, not paying extra for top rack placement.I got a call tonight from the carrier, and he expects to be able to deliver…[Read more]

I have no suggestions on your steering wheel situation, but I do have a question about your dash: How did you manage those labels on your switches? Very slick!

Did you notice the convertible top?
It’s stowed between the right side spare tire and the hood strap.
It’s an umbrella!
Or is that a brolly?

Can’t top that with any Type 1 VW mill I’ve seen. But there was a blower kit for those too. I’m hoping Bridget’s skin and lines impart all the style I need. More is better though, no doubt.

The other guys in high school were lusting over 57 Chevies.
I had a Road & Track fold out illustration of a K3 Magnette on my wall.

You are correct, Ed. Selling prices are much more accurate. But asking prices are at least an indication that selling prices might be on upward swing. The one on eBay right now contradicts what I just wrote, unless it goes higher closer to closing time.

Yeah, but does your 1776 huff and puff? It’s not just about horsepower. It’s about style.
The MG K3 Magnette sported a Marshall supercharger in front of the radiator much like a baby Blower Bentley. It generated 120 hp out of a 1087 cc Woseley Hornet 6 cylinder motor that produced 39 hp normally aspirated. It won its class at Le Mans and the Mo…[Read more] - Load More
