Bill, are you going to cruisin the coast in Mississippi by any chance. Houston’s about a 7 hour drive but I can promise you it’s worth the time spent. Be good to cruise with another TD owner.
Do you do any of the TX shows like the classic up in Fredricksburg? -

I had a 1641. And have a 1776 long block ready to be completed and installed…when I get my car back that is!
There are a ton of guys on the speedster forum with 1835 and larger.
Is there something speciic you are looking for? -

Hi Mark, et al,
I collected enough last year and earlier this year to cover 2012.
Unless there is some significant increase…we’re good! -

The windshield doesn’t have the rake for the bikini on wet glass maneuver anyway. -

I’m getting my fiberglass fixed up and polished this week and maybe next, then it’s the top repair, so I can keep the sun off my face when it’s still hot. Maybe I can tackle the tachometer light myself.

It should be just a matter of days before this guy ships. With the power that this one will have with a fiberglass body, it’s hard for me to think of this one as a lady.

Right, Paul. Let us all know how that works out for you next time.

Monday evening was the first time in months that I’ve driven and found myself wishing I’d worn a long-sleeved shirt. Like Mark, I still can’t drive during the daytime without the top up — although here in Houston, unlike Phoenix, we always have humidity to deal with.

Our mornings and evenings are wonderful in the 70’s here in Phoenix, Arizona, but our afternoons are still hitting over 100 F, even though the humidity is very low, it’s still a bit too warm to be driving with the top down after 10 a.m. until the sun sets.

Montie…the next time that happens….here’s what you say:”But sweetheart, look at those struggling, impoverished young ladies. They are so poor, they can barely afford clothes! It’s our obligation to help those less fortunate than ourselves. So let’s help them out and get the car washed.”

Paul,
I drove by Hooters the other day, the girls were out having a car wash. They tried their best to get us to pull in, my pretty accessory next to me thought I had washed the car enough that morning. Prob right but theres an idea for you when you get your car back. -

It has a unique look. In spite of the gold wheels the black on black theme is very understated. I’d leave it as it is.

I can’t decide. One day I like the gold wheels. The next day I don’t. If nothing else, they are different. I do wish they were 15-inch, instead of 14, but I can’t afford to replace them AND the rubber right now — plus, there’s the fake spare cover to consider. Whatever wheels I went with, I’d have to find something similar that could be cut down…[Read more]

Thanks Larry. I agree completely. Nothing against TD’s with stock VW slotted rims but I really like the wires on this model car and a true knock off is just icing on the cake in my opinion. They seem to belong there and don’t look at all like an aftermarket add on. I will do my best to keep them from getting any worse than they are and when the…[Read more]

Oil changes are pretty basic about the same as any other car.The only downside is the old chevy’s prior to 69 had a canister type oil filter,if your lucky it has been converted to a spin on filter. There is a conversion kit available and reasonably priced,If I recall JC whiteny has them pretty cheap..Tune ups are also about the same as any other…[Read more]

Tom, Those wheels really set off the car. I know that wire wheels were not original on the TDs but in my opinion, nothing else looks quite as good. I know they require a lot of work to keep them from rusting but they add an Old English look that I identify with the period that these cars represent.
I checked the Moss Motors site and new ones ar…[Read more] -
