I used the Moss Motors one for the TD. Bolts in at the bumper brackets and includes built-in foglight mounts.Might be a little more $$ than boat stuff, but not much, no cutting or measuring or drilling, and very durable so far.

Paul, keeping this site up and running for all of us to enjoy it is a lot of work. I’ve learned to spot the offending posts (it’s pretty easy) and just ignore them. I know you or someone else with authority will take care of it. Thanks for doing all of this work behind the scenes that keeps this forum for our enjoyment and learning opportunities.

I rarely have the top up, using the side curtains is even rarer. Although we do get some cool nights in the winter.

Hi Folks,I have received some inquiries from members, new and old.Because of our donations last year about this time, and more that came in during the year, we are good to go for the next year.I’m assuming our bill will not change by much for 2011 to 2012.If it does, I may be back. But for now, we’re covered!

Let me try this AGAIN…..Three of you kind hearted souls were kind enough to forward spam posts from this site to my personal email. (Please read the prior sentence as it it were dripping with sarcasm. The sarcasm you would get from a teenager. In New Jersey!)Enough already!I get it!Really!Truly!I’m deleting dozens of spam posts each day. And…[Read more]

I can’t claim first-hand knowledge of other kit cars, although I’ve eyeballed a few over the years, but it’s hard to imagine one built with more rigidity or thicker fiberglass than the MP Lafer. Granted, it isn’t truly a kit car, but the principal — VW frame, floorpans & engine — was the same. My TI model has a one-piece body with a hinged hood…[Read more]

Sweet! I’m guessing you rarely use the side curtains in Florida.

I heard of them about a year ago thought they were very pricey, for my budget anyway. I have less than 10% of the sticker invested Audrey, and I have air too. I think my next addition will be a Speedster. Always wanted one, so saving my pennys. Montie

I really don’t want to derail this thread, but newkitman, is this the muffler you are referring to? http://www.eurosportacc.com/eurosport_performance_exhaust_a udivw_mk5_volkswagen.htmIf this doesn’t post as a live link, can someone let me know how to insert links into postings? Never heard of the Marshall Classcs but it sure is a looker. But I’m with MGLR. I love the sound of the VW engine with a Euro Sport muffler and the sleek styling of the TD. BUT…I do like that 3rd brake light up in the back. A possibility for our TDs.

not to hard to add a badge bar .. It’s nothing but a boat hatch grap handle .
goto your local boat store . And ask for Hatch Grab handles , Install it
between the fenders in front of the grill.. Then order the Badge -

Wow, with air bags and modern safety equipment, I’d jump at this if I had the spare change. But for me, an old VW engine and the styling are what hooked me. Sure, if mine had air conditioning and an automatic roof, then why would I need my Honda S2000? Oh yeah, 9,000 RPM red line, 6-speed transmission, great modern design, but I love the ol…[Read more]
