Any idea how we work up our weights? Do we use the known chassis front and rear end and fudge in the fiberglass weights? What do our TDs weight anyway?

I got mine at sears, if they don’t have it they will order even white walls and fairly reasonable

 Very nice work the car looks spectacular. I am interested in the gauge rebuild process also. What type of front beam is that picture looks like it only has one tube? What type of rims or those?

In all probability, COSTCO will NOT carry a 165/80R15 tire.
These tires are limited production by the manufacturers that make them. Nankang is the brand that most VW people use and they are available mail order.
Sometimes Kumho will have them and Tire Rack.com has limited supplies of them.

Watch out for the 2 inch taller tires. I have some body damage on the inside behind the front fender. If you go taller you will need to reset the stops for right and left turn radius.
