The glovebox is a plastic container that fits into a routed groove and
clamped into place with a clip on each side. This allows me to
remove the container for cleaning. Rather than wire labels, I used
hardboard disks and machine screws to copy the backs of the gauges
and attach the wires. This allowed me to play with the gauge
placement as well as…[Read more] -

Very nice work on that dash. I especially like the glovebox. How’s that made?

You want a place to crash that night after scotch or whatever?I’ll be trying to track down the guy with the white car too. I have his name somewhere; just can’t recall it.Three ain’t bad though to…[Read more]

Nice. They either sponsor or are endorsed by National Hot Rod Association, SEMA and the Hot Rod Power Tour. -

ED,YEA 9/24. Come on guys. The Brandywine valley area is the gods gift to the MG TD world. Doesn’t get much better. Narrow roads, twisting curves, heavily wooded and the Brandywine river to boot. I loved to drive it when I owned my “real” 53 MG TD in the 70’s and I am going up to drive it again this Saturday with my Lovely Lady. Would be great…[Read more]

Paul, I’d like to add another to that list. I have all my cars insured with ANPAC. American National Property and Casuality. They have a CHROME division which insures specialized cars like ours. I have a 71 Karman Ghia, a 65 VW Beetle and my 81 Allison insured with them. Agreed Value insurance and the premimums are compairable to the Haggerties…[Read more]

I found out the hard way that taps will “weaken” threads in some instances, especially soft metals. Also they snap VERY easily.
I bought a set of barley used (some weren’t) Snap-On re-thread (male) and thread chasers (female) at the Englishtown Raceway Park Spring Swap Meet a few years ago. The local circle track machinist/engine builder told me…[Read more] -

Sad, but glad is the feeling. Weird when life is that way.
I am glad your eBay transaction went fine. I’ve always had good one’s when I was the seller…no luck as a buyer when it’s a vehicle.
I am “TD-less” right now since Larry Murphy did my old BCW proud. There’ll be another when the dust settles after my retirement and house sale. Only 76…[Read more] -

All,
Well, yesterday at 4:15 EST lil’ red rolled on to a car transport headed for Oklahoma City. The truck driver immediately fell in love with the car and said he wanted to put it up right behind the tractor so it would be protected. Nice. I have to admit there was a definite heart tug.
On the positive side, this was a smooth EBay transaction…[Read more] -

Sorry Dale. I was thinking we had a shot at getting Mossberg to this, and maybe Mark. Also, I happen to know Stoney’s & think it’s an appropriate spot. The fish & chips there are good. The Brandywine valley has some real nice roads too. So I’m still keen to get a group there.*B: There’s no risk of diluting attendance to an event that, so far, has…[Read more]

And I thought a regular tap would rethread a pre-threaded hole without removing much or any metal. Not so?

At the risk of diluting attendance at the Lord Pothingham’s Bubble and Squeak, (I never could keep those British pub names straight), why not try to have the event in more than one location? A couple of cars here, a couple there and we have a real event linked by speaker phones the tables. That might encourage more to show up next year. Who’…[Read more] -
