We’ve been reinventing a procedure for adjusting valves when there is an excellent discussion in the “Tech Articles for VW’s” section of this forum. It was written by Sean Bartnik on Sept 24, 1997.
Did you know that there is a dot on the edge of the fan pulley indication TDC?
I don’t usually read the directions first either.

I used a 3M version of this product to bond a liner to a fiberglass hood. It’s been hanging over a smallblock V8 for 15 years with no separation. You can find it on the shelf at your local parts store. Or, you can start an account at Eastwood.Eastwood Carpet and General Purpose Spray Adhesive 14 oz net AerosolItem #12743 Z @ $6.99

I agree with Paul. The Samba and the Speedster site are full of angry sob stories from folks unhappy with their mail-order mills. There are some companies with good reputations, but they’re not the cheapest builders.

This is West Coast Core’s web sitehttp://www.westcoastcore.com/servlet/StoreFrontAnyone ever hear of these guys?Their engine prices, for the most part, sound TOO cheap. You know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true….

If it were my windshield I’d install the cowl wipers and claim that they came from a 55 TF. -

Pink?
One of their engine color options is Pink.
If it brings more women into the sport I’m all for it.

She will offer group discounts, too, and I have asked her for the minimums she would need, but so far, I haven’t heard back from her. Her normal prices are not too back, and the design is embroidered, not screen printed, a positive for me. I have shirts with my Honda S2000 and the MG TD in my color. I can state that the shirts and stitching qu…[Read more]

Without going to aftermarket heads, you will not notice HUGE jump in power by just adding displacement and more fuel.
Bigger cc’s require more flow to make power…just adding more fuel to a restricted flow won’t get it done. Nor will adding a hot cam to OEM spec heads.
Dual Kadrons (Solex) or Dual 35 PDSIT’s (Solex) on a stock motor will wake it…[Read more] -

If you are running dual Solex’s (35 PDSIT’s or Kadron’s) you want no more than 1.5-2.0 psi fuel pressure MAX.
More fuel pressure will just flood the car by blowing the inlet needle seats, overflowing the bowl and come out the vent tubes into the carb verturis.
Dellorto and Weber IDF’s like 3.5 psi max.
009’s are mechanical advance…not vacuum.…[Read more] -

This gal will do denim shirts, polo shirts, gym bags, ball caps, you name it. This is one example of what she offers. I got my shirt’s MG car in cream to match my vehicle. She can add lettering too. Cheap enough?

I got the magazine and I couldn’t get into the store or out of parking lot without a lot of attention. I’ve been polishing the chrome, and I’ve a long way to go in my eyes, but she is very catchy right now. The Hot VW mag has a write up about the Phoenix Bug-o-rama that some of my neighbors just told me that they went to. VW of all shapes an…[Read more]
