No Mark, I gave up asking Santa for hair a long time ago. Besides, they tell me women like this look! We’ll see how that works out!
I did ask for many hands to help finish the 1776! We’ll see how…[Read more] -

Carry on, brother! It’ll stop raining. I think you and I represent the book-ends of this group, when it comes to fabrication and repair skill. Along with Old Buzz, you’re way over on the skill side (you really make your own radiators? really?) and I’m way over on the, um, other side (as my frame head epoxy adventure demonstrates). Here’s to…[Read more]

Ed, Way to go man. I’m pretty sure that fix will hold on pride alone. Makes me proud to be along for the ride.

Slowly but surely making progress on the beam. Turns out I had the last upper arm in wrong–off by about five degrees. Not sure how the leaves got in it that way, but when I went to tighten everything up the other day, noticed the grub screw on that one was out about a quarter inch. And the arm was turned just a bit tighter–closer to the lower…[Read more]

Right now the plans are to tow it behind our old motorhome. We’ve taken a couple of 250 mile trips in the v-dub powered TD, but as of right now I’m planning on bringing the Daytona MIGI 2, Ford powered model. I honestly don’t have any real knowlege of how it travels, so wouldn’t want to drive it that far yet. It does have regular automotive ty…[Read more]

Just registered for my wife and I (along with our camper). Hope to finally put a face with some names. Tell the others that if we can show up from Ky., some of those short distance types should be able to do it!

They have been trying to sell the company for quite a while. Hopefully the new owners will support us as well as Brad did.

Crooks. I bet there’s no law against it either. Only solution would be a lawsuit. And the only lawsuit worth taking for a lawyer is if a person or two died ’cause of the blowout. New congress will be shooting for “tort reform” again to cut down on such profit-diminishing activities.I put new Eagle GTs on my Nova round about 1985. Got an excellent…[Read more]

The dry rotted and nearly new tread depth tires I just removed from my 1974 Beetle were dated 1996 and 1997
I knew they were bad and decided it was too risky to leave them on there.
Working on and off in the tire arena for years, I knew about the date codes. Places that sell a high volume of tires, Sam’s Club, Costco, BJ’s, Tire Rack, etc.…[Read more] -
