As I said before, the top is a very intricate system of articulated bows. It looks like a real 3 bow system. The hood is glass, and the louvers are dummys as in most kit cars, The only thing that even remotely looks like it might have been identification is a round spot on the firewall tthat is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter that has three sm…[Read more]

Paul, What is an alphanumeric character? I have tried using a combination of capital and lower case letters along with numbers but it always changes the capital letters to lower case and shows the user name as invalid. Every thing about the application works except the user name.
Thanks for all you are doing to keep tdreplica .com go…[Read more] -

Donna, I to am very much in love with the TD and have been for over 50 years. The classic design with the long hood and sweeping fenders is my idea of ageless beauty. However, the MGTD was built in a time of two lane curvey roads and much less traffic at a slower pace. The TD replicas are usually able to handle higher speeds then the…[Read more]

I’m going to ask what may be the ”dumb question”. What does the title say it is?

Rob Baker replied to the topic I need help choosing a car in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 14 years, 11 months ago
Donna,
I’m going to be honest. I don’t think these cars are designed to be comfortable going 70-75. Back roads or short highway trips are fine but an hour at 70-75 would not be comfortable. You may want to look at a Miata. Around town the MGTD ford based replica is my car of choice in nice weather.

Still don’t know what it is, but I now own it! Hopefully I’ll get some pictures taken and post them soon. Drove it home last night (about 50 miles) and other than one headligt lighting up the tops of trees about 20 feet up on the left side of the road everything seemed to work ok.

Montie Henderson replied to the topic wood steering wheel in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 11 months ago
Sarge, another option is lowering your seat and putting it on a slight angle back. Also moving the back rest to the top of the tub helps. I gained about 6″ by moving mine. Montie

Larry Murphy replied to the topic wood steering wheel in the forum General Discussion 14 years, 11 months ago
Sarge, The wood wheels you see on most kit cars are Grant wheels. The wheel itself is almost flat but the adapter raises it 2 or 3 inches to clear the turn signal lever. Some others use a wheel that is actually flat and the signal lever is reworked to clear it.That wheel is no longer available to my knowledge. See my photo gallery ,the wheel on…[Read more]

Thanks All…I’ve been working on the car since I got it, so a little over 2
months, the car is a factory built chevette, glad you love the wheel and dash,
as this has been the biggest part of the fix up, and I am quite proud of the
choice of color compared to the stock and the way it came out.Currently I am edging the body, just to give it a…[Read more]

Check the classified section under Other VW Vehicles in http://www.thesamba.com There are always a lot of them for sale there. Personally I’d go for any of these kit cars after the MGTD (all VW powered): Bugatti, Jaguar SS-100, Mercedes Gazelle. Sorry to see you’re letting the TD go. Good hunting.
