Welcome aboard! And wow! That’s a heck-of-a list of questions.
At this point, I don’t believe manufacturer of the original kit weighs in too much. Build quality and condition are likely more important. that said, there is a manufacturer comparison thread here:

You will find some…[Read more]

Good luck Bill.
What did Wobby say, “Ain’t nothing good ever come from racin’!”
Keep the greasy side down and the rubber on the road! I look forward to a positive report!

First, I ‘m very sorry for your loss.
Well…I hate to give pricing estimates (beauty and price are in the eye of the buyer, to coin a phrase), here goes.
I’ve recently been seeing more and more ads in the $8k to $10k range. But those are asking prices, not selling prices.
While I do hope the sellers get what they want (as that helps us all,…[Read more]

Assuming the fuel sender and gauge functioned properly in the past then the ohm ratings for both are in synch. Ie 0-90, where 0 is empty and 90 is full
If there is no indication of fuel on the gauge then check that the wire from the sender is connected to the correct tab on the gauge. Usually there is three, four or five tabs on the gauge. A +…[Read more] -

This MG radio dash board cover plate assembly, to me, looks almost identical to the one in the home page photo.
I’ll also keep an eye on future comments here,…[Read more]

Where can I find an MG plaque to cover the (radio) hole on the dash of an MG TD similar to the one pictured behind the black lab at the top of the page on this site? I have another dash I want to install in my car and the radio hole is very small. I don’t want to butcher it like I did the old dash to install my inexpensive, after-market AM/FM/CD…[Read more]

Greetings replica club members. I just joined today. My father and I constructed the FiberFab MiGi in 1978-79 on a ’67 VW chassis; now 40 years later, undertaking a restoration (i.e., chrome, top, rims, tires, muffler, brake lines, etc.). Looking forward to everyone’s discussions and learning a few things in the process!

Original side panels would be a great solution.  But my BCW hood is 3 inches longer than an original.  I think I can use a router to cut the openings in the side panels.

I Know they have them, but they don’t ha e the style I’m looking for and will not custom make them.  I need the width of the reproductions so I can buy leather blanks and dye them myself.

Fan shroud.
Putting a fan over the whole rad is good but the key is getting the air to move through the whole thing–a full shroud and then a way for the air to get out from under the hood. These cars, like most, can develop relatively high pressure under the front. The ope louver idea could work as well.
I made a shroud over the rad and allow…[Read more]
