I’m guessing float or cut off. pretty easy pull air filter and tap fuel bowl top firmly with the handle of a screwdriver then try to start.

Tom, After you start it and it stops running, check to see if you have fire to the coil at the terminal the wire coming from the ign.switch connects to. The ign. switch may be sending current to the coil when it’s in the start position which would explain why the engine starts but loosing the connection when it is in the run position.

Tom,Two things come to my mind if it’s a fuel issue. First is a float stuck closed in the carb and second is the fuel cutoff solenoid on the bottom of the carb.If it’s electrical it could be a number of things.Best I can come up with in the short time. Larry I think that type of paint would look good on our cars with all the rounded lines it would change color at every angle I had A Mustang painted like that
at that time only Cobra’s could be painted that type of paint from Ford and hard to imposable to get on the out side. Dan

The original cars mounted the spare on a tube steel frame that bolted over the gas tank. They also had the license plate mounting bracket built in. These frames come available on ebay about once a month. Might be adaptable if you, the builder, are also adaptable. (The BCW cars have a somewhat wider version of these that swing away to provide…[Read more]
