Stock TD hubcaps will not fit a stock VW or Chevette wheel. -

You may want to send him a private…[Read more] -

So, I re-timed the engine. I looked at the Mustang II manual and they suggested 6 degrees advanced. I ended up setting it to 10 degrees advanced and re-adjusted the mixture/idle speed.
Wow!!! there is nothing as satisfying as new found Horsepower!! The difference in performance was amazing. First gear whips my head back and I’m not even done bu…[Read more] -

Rollie wrote:Well I put the muffler on, and it is a total success ! It clears the deck by a lot and eliminates the heat issue in that area. I really like the sound, kind of a deep burble. No popping on decelleration and at 60 mph , you can still hear it , but it is not load. And…. The muffler doesn’t show and the single pipe looks great !… -

I agree the best driving weather is a clear crisp fall day! Drop teh top, bundle up, put the heat on if you have it, and go!Re starting up while the car is otherwise idle, I am not an engineer. But I have been told one of the worst things you can to an internal combustion engine is start it, let it run for a few minutes and shut it down. The engine…[Read more]

Thanks for the update and the heads up on boiling out the radiator. My car

that didn’t make any difference. -

At the base of the generator/alternator stand there will be the block number. Then if you want the year of the frame, that number will be between the seats, you will see a cover plate, the frame number should be just in front of that.
Then look up the number in the VW Tech articles link -

I tried in Internet Explorer and in Firefox. I get the blank screen. There’s got to be some security or connection setting in our IE or FF set-ups that is prevented the applet from loading. I’ll keep poking around.
