  • I solved this problem by making a zero dish wheel. It’s not that hard if you know CAD and know of a sheetmetal shop with a CNC laser, plasma, or waterjet cutter.  Draw the design of your choice in CAD (must be good quality with all vectors attached).

  • I thought of doing the same thing.  Once I started looking at the available room for batteries and the lack of sufficient structure to support them, I decided to stick to gasoline. 
    If I were to do it, I would consider building a structural tube space frame to replace the VW pan.  This would be a bigger project than I am ready for.

    Im restoring a MIGI and have the same problem with muffler clearance.  Just to make sure, did you install the #3487?  I was not totally sure from the E-mail chatter if you installaed the 3417 or the 3487.
