John, did you already try Rick Drake?
If not, MOOG makes various sized isolators and Eaton-Detroit Spring may have them or know a source/part number. http://www.eatonsprings.com/
Sometimes a piece of heater hose slipped on to about 5 or 6 inches of the coil end will work too. Fox Body Mustangs have this set up in front.

Hi Lil Red.I’m a Duchess owner too! Welcome aboard. The number stamped into the pan is the VIN for the donor car. YOu will find it on the center tunnel, under your seat, near the access panel for the shifter rod to transaxle joint. Once you find the VIN on your chassis, here is a VW Type 1 VIN Decoder…[Read more]

Love her still but she needs some work and finally found some time to give her! – Custom crafted a lovely walnut dashboard a long time ago but switches are sticky now – VW chasis but not sure of year–bought it “built” and she runs – except last night had a lovely leak from…[Read more]

Thanks Ringo, I’ve emailed Jegs to see if they have info on which size I need to order. Worst case I’ll pull mine again and measure them like I should have done last time! 🙂

HawkI’m not sure of the diameter of our Chevette springs, but maybe these could work. If not, it looks like the company has other sizes.http://www.jegs.com/i/Energy-Suspension/355/9-6101G/10002/-1Good luck, let us know what you end up with, I’m sure I need to replace mine.Ringo

Antique & Classic was a good manufacturer. If it is all there, this would be a good deal for someone. The “large” headlight buckets are the correct ones. And often forgotten fact, the car was actually an SS100 Jaguar. No one ever says that these days. But “Jaguar” was not adopted as the brand until after the SS100.

After years of autocrossing when the cut down leaf springs broke, I took a piece of tubing and created a new crossmember and mounted coil over shocks and created a 3-link suspension with a panhard rod. This setup is sweet.

Thanks 1oldbuzz. Sounds like an excellent deal for someone. The 37 Jag reminds me of our TD’s in a larger format. I have seen some with huge headlights and some with TD sized headlights. Cool automobile.

Larry,
Excellent point. Now I know what happened to the long half of my donor car springs
I can adjust my springs in the forward direction, by only 1.5 inches before the springs start curving downward. The frame end of my springs are clamped with four bolts and a connecting plate bridging the spring body. It all seems very light weight, but does…[Read more] -

Well I think I have got it figured out. I looked in the download manuals section at the place where it tells how to cut the springs and it give the instructions to make the cuts and install the rear end. Now I am wondering if the springs are longer on one end and if that is the case and the builder used the wrong end of the spring ,it would c…[Read more]

James, The car is an automatic so the shifter was mounted on the floor and seemed to be in a suitable location. I failed to look at the drive shaft but my guess is that it had been shortened . I checked some previous posts on this subject but cannot get it clear in my mind as to just how the springs are located on the chassis.Perhaps there is a…[Read more]

Larry,
My driveshaft appears to be modified to fit. It appears that the rear axle can be brought forward, but the driveshaft would have to be modified possibly. I do not have much wiggle room. I am not very familiar with leaf springs, but I thought it was odd to have cut the Pinto springs in half, but it seems to work. I haul a trailer and never…[Read more] -
