When I first got the Duchess, took off the wind wings. Put them back on cause they did help and I thought they looked good.
How much do they help? Depends on speed. Like the older cars with vent windows, when they were open they definitley cut down on turbulence coming through the main door window. In a convertable they help mainly at l…[Read more] -

No intention of sounding impatient, just thought the short answer was all that was needed.
As to where to look, wish I knew. I’d start at some of the VW vendors like CP1, or a quick google search. Some of the guys here probably have specific places to go. Seems that some have had luck with Ebay.

If you can not find a original frame some were then you might check with the Speedway catalog, some of the American roadsters and hot rods had fold down frames. They also sell the hardware with it. Plan on spending a few bucks and a lot of modifying ( but it is worth it ) Bill

I’m catching up on mail and various forums, having been completely off the matrix for a week. I’m reading through the above and am not sure if we’re still talking about a car or a “significant other”.One thing is clear…Mel sure does “luv” “her”!

Mark is correct. Most of the wind is coming from behind. The windshield creates a vacuum and the air rushes over the top of the glass, and makes a u-turn into the back of your head.I find the wings smooth some air going down the sides. But Dan R is on target…the wind is part of the fun. If you need to stay covered (like I do!) do what the…[Read more]

Mel,The car looks awesome! The center zip is normal for a tonneau cover, so if only the driver is in the car, you can keep the passenger side covered (and dry if the weather turns bad)

I stand corrected. Glad to know that they are so reasonable. Brad at MG MAGIC is a very knowledgable person and I did not mean to imply any thing against him or his company. I was under the impression that real wire wheels cost more like $500. each.

Thanks for the info. Not really interested in tricking people into thinking I’m driving an original MGTD. It’s just my wire baskets are showing rust along the edges.

I purchased the $695 set of 5 chrome wire wheels from Brad Anderson at MG Magic for my Chevette based MGTD. They are in fact true wire wheels – supported entirely by the spokes. They incorporate an inner rim seal covering the ends of the spokes to support use of tubeless tires. Initially I was skeptical of this but my tubeless tires were moun…[Read more]

Sarge, I think the wire wheels that MG Magic sell are really chrome wheels with wire baskets. Call them to be sure. Most wire wheels I have seen are much more expensive than the price you mentioned. It’s really whatever you prefer as to wire wheels or disc wheels.Seems like I read somewhere that wire wheels were either an option or a popular pe…[Read more]

Mel,
I LOVE the tonneau cover. I do not have a garage and I do not want to EVER put the top up. So, every night the cover goes on. If I were to design a new one, it would have a flap that would cover the zipper and be held in place by a velcro strip. The cover is water tight except for the zipper area. An alternative would be to can the zipper c…[Read more] -

As a beginner ;I need some serious help.
Where can I buy the windshield that folds forward as I see on several MG kit cars? Ihave one that is straight. Any ideas? -

Ringo.
Being new to all of this, please have patience. I have posted the picture on the TD Replica site. Where do you suggest I start looking.
Also, my two rear view mirrors really do not let me see for safty sake, do you know of any right mirrors that can be attached to the windshild? Or what do you suggest?
