Hey Bill:Thanks for sharing your idea!I am a Newbie as well, and knew I had to make some changes as I use my PB religiously in my TDI.I have looked at dash mount units and other mod styles but have not been impressed with any of them. Now I have to find a welder! If you come up with a kit let me know. Thanks,Bob

Good Evening Pink:I agree with you, that the only way to get the front end down is with an adjustable beam.I was lucky enough to find an OEM unit with German adjusters over at CIP1.It will be here in a week or so, then I’ll be back to your tuning thread. Thanks,Bob

Ringo,
Looks great! I’ve been thinking about doing something like that. Unfortunately like Paul said, that light positions requires REAL wire wheels, so I won’t be able to play copy cat either
I might be able to rig something that fastens to the Wire Basket with a quick disconnect though.

Bill,Exactly the procedure some of the original TD kit manufacturers recommended for dealing with the “out of reach” parking brake handle! Kudos for working it out on your own!!!!

Ringo,What a great idea…hiding the 3rd brake light inside the spare!Wouldn’t work for my stock rims with TD hubcaps. But anyone with wires should copycat you!

Hey Ringo…Pink MG is Mark…PMossberg is Paul
Wow…a $4.00 six pack…is that cheap these days? I’ve not bought a six pack since 1981…it was $1.55 for a six pack of Bud cans back then.
Glad the gauge is working fine…now we just need it to be Spring! -

Hey Bruce
You need to state if they are 4 lug or “wide-5” bolt pattern. -

Hi Bruce, I purchased a top for an original 52 MG with a 2 bow top and was able to use it with no changes except cutting 2 inches off each end of the rear top support bar. This allowed the rear of the top to lean forward and fit the top at the proper position. This did not lower the height over the head of the driver or passenger. My car is a VW…[Read more]

Great observation Larry…I guess we’re all a bunch of nearsighted, computer illiterate old men with cool kit cars
I guess FrankieD is the guy that may be able to explain this to us? We are probably missing a button (icon) that allows us to shrink pictures before we post them. They seem to be causing the wide format posts. I don’t recall any…[Read more] -

Hey Everyone, I ‘m glad someone asked this question. I’ve noticed that once a question or comment starts out wide it stays wide regardless of who responds to it ,same for one that begins narrow, I think. It sure does make it easier to read in the narrow format. I get dizzy dragging the words back and forth. I too am not computer smart enough to…[Read more]

Protection is a relative thing when it comes to bumpers on these VW based cars. Keep in mind that you are driving a sheet metal VW floor pan with a flimsy fiberglass body on it. It’s like driving a 4 wheeled motorcycle as far as protection goes. That’s just the nature of these cars.
As far as the brakes, if the shoes were greased up, replace them.…[Read more] - Load More
