I can only laugh at what I found. She was icing, no doubt about it.
First off, the flanges were nearly welded shut by the folks who built the exhaust. Not only that, but the thru-holes from the heat riser pipes to the exhaust headers off cylinders 2 and 4 were anything but correct. I’m guessing once they welded the flange pipes to the he…[Read more]

I pulled the carb back apart to double check I had all the passages clean, which I did.
She fired back up, the choke plate all the way open once it warmed up then, then she quit idling. The intake tube under the carb was ice cold. Felt the heat riser pipes coming from cylinders 2 and 4 and they are barely warm where they attach to the exhaust f…[Read more]

I had to google Bug-A-Paluza, looks like it’s in Tennessee. I am in north county San Diego. Are there many kits that go? Looks like fun.

Does anyone have a gas tank liner they don’t need and is willing to sell? If so, please PM me. My kit is a CMC/Fiberfab kit.
Thanks

Our Duchess is insured with American Modern that we got through our Broker that handles our Mercury policies. We are in So Cal also. It’s one of those goofy collector car policies, but it was the only one I could find.

Thanks guys your comments are very flattering and encouraging to make my next set better. I can not believe that I did not think of doing this before. I gave the fabricated brackets the 65 + test today on the interstate, and they held up with no problems what so ever. My next set will have just a little taller side walls to increase the strength…[Read more]

Put on the back wheels tonight. Little red Locktite where the through bolts I’m using as wheels studs go through the drum. Little blue Locktite on the lug nuts holding on the knock-off adaptor. Tops of the fenders cover the tires now.

Dear Danny
I’ve been insured through State Farm for many years…Even when I drove a 1929 Mercedes (Gazelle) kit car. I’ve never had any claims…”Knock on wood”. I’m located in Southern California…Can’t help you on the VIN…I’ll leave that to the real smart guys here…Hope this helps…

I have bought my MG TD Replica and it is awaiting shipment. Hagerty won’t insure it because I closed in my garage. Any suggestions on someone who writesinsurance without this requirement. Also, the car was assembled in Texas, and the owner in Oklahoma has a title with a VIN 119219037 1981 MIGI.. He says there is no other VIN even betwe…[Read more]

Thanks, Dale. As per the photo, the bolt did snap off in the nut. But it’s sticking out the other side such that I am confident I can turn it through with a needle-nose vicegrip or similar. The thing lives its life buried in grease after all.
