Lock in a date (without a hundred surveys) and see what the response is.
And if you can find Roy’s “drop dead gorgeous girl,” you might increase attendance. -

Any chance sharing what kind of triage, maintenance or modifications with those of us because of distance would be unable to attend. I found the posting and exchange on suicide door locks a great contribution to the overall safety for all who keep up on the site. All that would be required would be for one of those attending to take pics and…[Read more]

Should you decide to go the route of modifying gauges, I can recommend this guy. Reasonable rates, and he’ll work with you on “customizing” to meet your specific desires.https://www.facebook.com/NorthGeorgiaSpeedometerI had him modify three gauges for me, in preparation for installing a new dash:1. Clean and place a 914 Porsche tachometer in an…[Read more]

I have the gauges that came with the kit. All are white faced however, I don’t really like an amp gauge preferring a voltage gauge. But they don’t match my gauge set and I like the gauges. Is there a way that I can reface my voltmeter (using a decal or whatever)?

You’re a good man, Ed. Figure out some method of TDr triage, and then have some fun comparing and discovering. It was at one of these meetings that my “Roy’s Lock” was introduced to the suicide door community. At the next meeting, all who had been to the prior meeting had installed them. (This was way before Al had invented the internet.)

I agree that cowl mirror is worthless, I put mine on the windshield, also two mirrors up above the windwings to catch those over worked British MG’s trying to catch up and look at me. Was kind of hard to see in the photo, so the magenta arrow. I really like the mirror set up now, I also have fender mirrors, hard to get adjusted to the right s…[Read more]

A few hours fettling after work and I loaded her up.
I can just about walk upright under Bridget when she’s up with the top up. If I put the windshield down I’ll for sure get one more notch of lift, and that’ll give me full stand. Also planning on getting a tough old office chair with wheels, so I’ll be able to slide under anything else…Very psyched. -

Very nice car.I agree with the comments above. We seem to be seeing more asking prices in the $13-14k range. But I truly doubt cars are selling at that price.

The flat mirrors that came with these cars are useless. But convex mirrors on the fenders have worked fine for me since 1983.

Lot of work and a fair amount of money. I ended up using a white-faced 5-inch Classic Instruments unit, plus a ’73 Bug Speedometer, which is just shy of the same diameter.
Before I did that, I looked into buying real TD gauge cases and transferring the guts to them. Too much work and money for my blood. -

Ric,Would you send me a private message or email me with more detail. To figure out what’s going wrong, I really need micro level detail of exactly what steps you followed at at which point it errored out.Maybe email would be better, you’d be able to include screen shots in an email.
