Well, I promised you some details on my winter project on our TD. I like bringing the car to work as my co-workers also have some collector vehicles. So, I wanted to only address a few issues. First, try and get the cab a little quieter from the engine noise. Second was replace the poor quality stereo that was installed, and last was to get…[Read more]

Thanks Bill, and appreciate the additional instructions. I’ll have to give it a try. I messed with it a little bit last night, but did not have much luck. I hope to post some info on my winter project. Take care.

I’ll start by calling out @billnparts for the reminder to get some pictures going. Thanks Bill! Last fall I purchased a FiberFab MGTD (VW platform) about 5 hours south of where we live. Made the deal and I asked the person to check the air and oil as I was driving it home! “You’re driving it home? How far is that?”, he said. “About 5 hours…[Read more]

Number one on my list of things I don’t like about my TD replica and the biggest giveaway that it is a kit car are the wire wheel hubcaps that look like they came off of a 1980’s Oldsmobile station wagon. I looked at the alternates and didn’t find anything that I could both afford and suited me so I made my own kind of, sort of in the style of…[Read more]

Currently the site runs on WordPress using the PHP language, version 7. PHP7 is a bit old at this point and all the cool kids are moving to PHP version 8. I say all the cool kids really meaning everyone who runs a reasonably up-to-date webserver is.
So, at some point in the next few days our service provider will be upgrading our back-end…[Read more]
