Brian! Thanks for posting. Many of us have admired those TD2000s for years, but never knew anyone who had one (the $50k sticker price kept most of us out of the running). Please stick around and tell of your adventures.

Have never shipped anything from Canada to US but choices I have used from US are via mail or courier. Don’t know if any cross border duty charges would be applicable. As for cost make an offer or we could swap goods for stuff I need from MG Magic

Billnparts, can you post a link to your thread? I’ve tried to search for it but all that shows up is your latest post above referring to the VDO repair. Thanks.

Yes interested if it looks like this. It doesn’t have to have the trip miles function. Mine is 3.25″ dia. measured from outside of chrome ring. How much including shipping to 76664? I don’t need to see photo.L.D.

I have a 3.25 ” VDO speedometer from a FF TDR that I am restoring. I installed a Speed Hut GPS speedometer so no longer require the VDO gauge. The TDR is built on a 68 VW frame so there is a cable as well. Let me know if you are interested or want to see pics. It was working when the car was put away for the winter last fall

Now that I’ve looked at the pictures again I’m sorry that the rest of the wheel (besides the spinners) looks shoddy.
The “patina” of the car in general makes everyone think it is an “unrestored” original…. even the folks at the TD Enthusiast’s group (where I posted a photo of “my ride”) who immediately noticed the 15 hole variety were 14 inch… -

It’s a good thing that they are clarifying what the “agreed value” is. But depending on other provisions in the policy, that “agreed value” might only be used as a cap on payment if the car is stolen or totaled.
But that is not the total picture. Do yourself a favor, look for a provision in your policy that says something like “Limit of… -

I love this site!!!! Always filled with logical, practical, fun-filled facts, factoids, and…stuff!!
But now I’ll have to drain and refill my electric pole saw to purge it of that offensive inferior motor(a.k.a. chain) oil– Happy Jack(even happier knowing that my VR1 API SN “racing oil” is not banned in North Carolina — ):D -

I know I’m responding to an old string, but because hubcaps are not an easy option for me here’s a series of progression photos of what I have done with the BCW “limited edition” plastic center caps that came with the car.

Apparently my cache of oil is older than yours – I ain’t got no SN. However, you should know that the electric “saw on a stick” that I recently borrowed from you, has the blade lubricated with Valvoline Racing CD oil that was specially formulated to meet all the requirements of single cylinder diesel engines (including turbocharged) in 1955.

Hey Roy,
Interesting reading — in digging through the 4 pages of “stuff” it appears that post # 12 hit it on the head — “Valvoline VR1 is still available and legal in California. Valvoline makes 4 “flavors” of VR1. The three obsolete ones are not available. The most popular and most used one…API SN/SM/SL is not obsolete and still a… - Load More
