Since the Marine Corps was really just a branch of the Navy, would you be so good as to send me a copy also? (USN Submarines 1961-1985)

Yeah but what on an original TD is better than on a replica? I have been thinking on this and my list of things that TD have or can do that TDr’s don’t or can’t is very small.TDr’s can look so close to TDs that very close inspection is required to tell apart.TDr’s (even stock VW powered ones) are faster and more nimble than stock TDs. (Lets se…[Read more]

I agree with Johnsimion! When I refinished my dash, re wired it, and added extra holes for a new four way flasher switch, and a cigarette lighter outlet for my GPS, I NEEDED SEVERAL ADULT BEVERAGES, after I was done each day. I did the whole job myself, it took me about four weeks. You just want it to come out perfect, as it is a major focal point…[Read more]

I am having this put on my new car cover. “Caution Car Alarm is On” When I go to car shows, my car insurance company, Heacock, has given me several free (Please do not touch) signs. When I park at a motel during an over night event, I put a “Car Boot” on the right front wheel that I have turned hard to the right. This plus the car cover helps me…[Read more]

I guess a lot of the “orginal MGs” are becoming harder to find, or becomming to pricy to afford them. So many people are turning to MGTDr as a substitute. The old rule of supply and demand is helping the value of our well maintained cars appreciate. Then again the dealers always ask for more, as they seek major profits. Like Paul says …………[Read more]

Bill, I may have to steal this from you, if you don’t mind. I think it’s pretty clever!

You’re a sick man, Roy. I love it.I used 4 pole trailer connectors on my dash switches. (some circuits don’t use all 4. Cut off the ones not used). My dash is out in a matter of minutes.

I took my dash off for the template. I then made two dashes one solid oak and the other I had company water jet another out of aluminum for winter driving. It doesnt take long to change them between the seasons and I dont worry about the rain warping the oak. I keep a set of switches and guages installed on both dashes so I just disconnect the…[Read more]

OMG Roy! That’s hysterical. When I scrolled back up to fairwind’s post, it took a second, but then…there she was! 😀

I thoroughly enjoyed reading John’s post above. But….when I started to read it, I glanced above at the bottom of fairwinds post. A pretty good replica torso of a woman, complete with navel. Where else can you have so much fun as on tdreplica.com?

Having just re-done my own dash … I would recommend AGAINST it unless you are ready for a long and difficult journey. There is no way I would ever make the new dash first before taking off the old one, and there is no way your car will be out of commission for a “short time.” After going through this, I’ve concluded that to do this right, y…[Read more]

I replaced the big roller with a small caster wheel to get it closer to the original TD size. If I had a Chevette stule gas pedal arm coming down I might think about welding the caster holder to the end of it and calling it a day.
Key is getting something narrow but workable. The only value of the roller, from a practial standpoint, is that it fits… -
