Boy, does that ever look familiar. Fuse blocks and ground blocks look exactly like MY Daytona MiGi’s when I got her. Only my wires were ALL green, and a tangled bird’s nest. I spent days and days, weeks and weeks, trying to trace circuits down. My son ( pretty versed in VW’s ) talked me into scrapping it all and starting over. I purchased a P…[Read more]

with key off take test light & check . that will tell you which circuit is hot all the time . then take the fuses out turn key on check each end of where the fuse connects that will tell you which is supply to the circuit . also pull the supply (hot wire ) to the coil so you do not burn the points out . I would not trust wire color unless you…[Read more]

I did some searching…maybe a dozen times…and while I found some nice pics and saw both that my wiring challenges are not unique AND that they can be cleaned up I’m having some difficulty translating the MiGi_Wiring_Harness, CMC_VW_Assembly_Manual, and the MiGi_II_Assembly_Manual into what I see on the car. Took mine off 1000 miles ago with no negative effects. I was like you, it clunked against the front skid plate on bumps, and was very annoying. I have cornered and driven aggresively, (as much as possible in a 50 year old VW chassis!) and my car performs as expected. I am not putting mine back on.

It was my pleasure to meet up with Mike and Wendy Davis in their Dutchess and us in our MiGi, and drive in the annual Ebenezer, Missouri Independence Day Parade. Very small community, but LOTS of friendly people. I really like your Dutchess, Mike !

Ground (GND) to ground. Positive (red, +) to key switched +. Lights are a + wire from the dash lights or the headlight switch. Finally the green or signal wire goes to the negative (-) terminal on you coil. done.

crash55 replied to the topic Tachometer connection in the forum General Discussion 3 years, 12 months ago
there are only 4 connections usually negative (ground) positive (power) signal (comes from ignition coil where the dist . wire connects ) & power for light you can probably look up the info from the tach . brand’s website keep us informed on your progress

Took out my non working tach and finally found a so so replacement. Of course I have misplaced the original. Can anyone tell me which wires get connected where so I can install the new tach.
Thanks for any help.
