Rain here in Ohio the next few days so I won’t get much drive time, or maybe I’m just anxious. Tow bar attached, drive shaft disconnected, light bar on back, rain X on windshield and car mostly packed with tools, tent, tarp and just about anything else I think I might need
. Still have to put top up and side curtains on.

Hey Folks — looks like Carlisle has been trumped by family this year — I have a commitment that will keep me tied up this weekend that I can’t postpone so no Carlisle for me this year.
I do have a reservation at the Courtyard for Thurs-Sun that I’ll have to cancel. Anyone interested in tking over this room? We should be able to get the hotel t… -

The National weather forecast only shows a chance of rain ( 20-30% ) both days and one of the days it’s chance of thunderstorms that may not even happen. Given that I finally have a top this year I don’t see it raining. On the other hand I might bring a EZ pop up tent to make sure it does not rain.
Like you said it is still a couple of days off -… -

The tent is huge. And there are other indoor places to get out of really bad weather. You won’t be able to get your cars indoors. But…a little rain is nothing. I have been at Carlisle for some truly horrendous weather, garbage cans flying around, tents blowing down, that sort of thing.Just bring a rain jacket and maybe an umbrella. And I tend…[Read more]

Hey folks,
According to that “infallible” Weather Bug App, it is going to rain Fri and Sat at Carlisle —So how many people can fit under the Speedsters group’s tent? How many big umbrellas will we need to cover ourselves and the cars? Or is there a rain date?Actually, it looks like Saturday will not be a wash out but Friday may be……but th… -

Thanks, George. I got it out–the vicegrips and hammer didn’t get it but the 1/4 socket extension and a hammer (from the back) did.
The new one would not go in with the threaded end, so I just cut it off. There’s about 16-18 inches of slack in the cable from moving the pedals back, so the old one was looped and held with a clamp. The new one will… -

I have a pair ( right and left) of older rectangular mirror that are held on by set screws for clamping to grove. I bought them at a auto flea market at few years ago, they have some pitting but you should be able to clean them up.
how about $35 shipped for both ? -

I suspect that you may have a Holley Bugspray carb. Probably a model 2100. If so, it is not progressive. Also, if the idle mix screws are facing forward then it is mounted backwards (from most installations). I really do like mine. If you search this site for bugspray there are some of my ramblings about it. And on YouTube I posted my…[Read more]

The 2bbl Weber progressive came standard on Ford Pintos. It was adapted for the VW and works great–once it’s set up right–and if you have a good manifold that gets it some heat from the heads so it doesn’t ice up.
I think Roy has that carb or one very much like it. - Load More
