so-cal customs sells the wheel with a hub that bolts to the grant three-hole hub you probably have now. I had to drill out the top plate holes a little to make up for the aluminum thickness–though it’s probably possible to slide the lock and signal switch carrier down the shaft an eighth inch to accomplish the same result.
I know: spendy. I… -

Thanks for the response. My gazelle has been parked on the driveway for a while now. I plan to get her back on the road after I can solve the smog issue. Until then, ELiza Jane has prooven to be my best girl, just dont let the wife hear that.I have her up on blocks at the moment and shes getting a bumper to bumper rewire. The seat back upholstery should be a one piece “pocket” that you stretch around the foam cushion.

Smog laws can be a real pain for hobbyists and poor people alike (to say nothing of poor hobbyists!). I think that in many cases they have gone away because newer cars–and by that I mean anything made in the last 20 years or so–are so much cleaner than what preceded them that it’s just not cost effective to bother much with these tests. They…[Read more]

One last question for y’all. In all the pictures I’ve seen of the seat back there is a middle and two edge pieces. My instructions don’t show those pieces. Only shows a single rectangular piece. Do all TDR seatbacks have the center and edge pieces? Just wondering if the fabric from the kit will fit.

Welcome Rick, fortunately Ohio did away with the smog inspections. Some politician made a bunch a money for a few years while in office, then all of a sudden we didn’t need it. Things that make you go Huh.

Mike, I have the same problem. Only way I could get it to work is to go to my pictures file-copy with rt click and them paste it in the reply area.

I am thinking of selling my built by factory yellow Mini Mark IV. Has factory AIR and was listed in original sales brochure. Have both hardtop and soft top. Always stored. Under 13000 miles. Built in 82. Thinking around $10,000. All original including both fender tires and wire wheels all around.

I converted my 1970 vw 1600sp to doghouse cooling. worked very well! reduced the engine temps to well under 160 even on hot days. before I was running upwards of 225 with my oil light nice and bright at idle! The donor engine I use happened to be a 1975 fuel injected rig so I got the “vortex ring” as well! I don’t know how much effect IT has.

Went out and took the engine out again to see if I had fouled something up last time I put it on or time before that when I used the wrong throwout bearing thingie.
No damage to anything. I removed the pressure plate and reinstalled with the clutch guide tool just for good measure. Everything looks right. So I reinstalled the engine yet again.I… -
