That’s not a bad idea. Put the mounts where you want them instead of where the factory put them. Continuing the tradition of “no two being alike”.

OK, back in the garage after a lazy weekend of doing pretty much nothing. I tried to cut down my front trans mount to give me the 3/4-inch or 7/8ths I need for the new transmission position. I was really proud of the grinding job I did on both the old welds and the steel mount itself.
Unfortunately, when I mocked it up, I was still like half an… -

I just registered, Cher and I are coming this year. Not sure about trailer or flat tow yet. Planning on leaving Dayton OH Friday morning if anyone coming 70 east and want to meet up for a caravan let me know.

Has anyone who fabbed up seat boxes like this considered adding piano hinges or something so you can easily open them for the storage underneath?

With regards to louver openings I used a router with an 1/8″ bit and a rigid straight edge and it turned out beautifully. The engine compartment is cool as can be.

Hit the “member control panel” button–upper left under “forum home.” Then hit “file manager.” You’ll get a readout on how much of your 100mb storage space remains, and a list of pics by their file name. You can click on a pic and look at it and then delete it. Or you can just delete without looking if you know the name (I never do).

Mike I did away with my original seat bases too. The bases I made of wood are now at about 3″ angle toward the back. I started with 2″ and gained quite a bit of room but rebuilt them last summer to gain more and add the webbing. A couple pic in forum picture area of the first bases I built, my number is 1235. I have several more pictures of the…[Read more]

Door hinge tip – screwed body part of hinges to a 2×3 to maintain correct distance (7 1/8″ in my case)and straight line between top and bottom hinge pins. Tight & blind nut bolt connections kept me very warm all afternoon. juneybug2013-12-29 20:35:34
