A thread similar to this started up on the Speedster Owners Forum…
How old is the typical TD replica owner?

February 10, 2012 at 11:05 am #24902533 and purchased my little red car June of last year.
February 10, 2012 at 12:07 pm #249026Paul, did you volunteer to tally this all up? Not sure if I should participate in this query, but I’m 70 1/2. Starting to realize why women are so secretive about their age. Who will I be able to talk to at Carlisle?? I’ll have to tell stories of the good old days.
I took my heads off today. Gonna be a 1600sp soon.
My first replica was a birthday present 27 Sept 2011.
February 10, 2012 at 12:20 pm #249027Just turned 53

No worries, I saw 72, a few 73’s and a 75 on the speedster forum!

February 10, 2012 at 3:46 pm #249031Well then your welcome for bringing the average age down a few. I love these cars and my 5 year old actually says its his so maybe that will help too.
February 10, 2012 at 5:34 pm #249032I’ll be 69 in mid March, still just a little kid stuck inside an older body. Wanted a TD ever since I first saw one maybe 50-55 years ago. Bought mine in June ’11, rebuilt the engine (1600DP), new brakes, tires, top, radio (why?, can’t hear it anyway), redid a lot of the wiring. A lot of fun for the money, both driving and tinkering. And hopefully will not be any more money.
mrlmd40949.7332523148February 10, 2012 at 5:35 pm #24903367 here. I got my MG TD replica -1986 London roadster with 17,486 miles for my Christmas present December 2011. I am not a gearhead-just love vintage cars.. We just enjoy driving this beauty..

February 10, 2012 at 8:41 pm #249042Too many toys? ….Blasphemy! …they keep you young!Royal40949.9080671296
February 10, 2012 at 9:12 pm #24904358, I think…..always have to do the math….yep, 58…..I still have to do the
alphabet song to get stuff in the right order…and most of my exercise is
getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom….my knees
buckle but my belt won’t….all the names in my little black book have M.D.
after them…..still, it’s all good…
February 11, 2012 at 5:36 am #249044I’m 68 & 11/12 ths. and am currently recovering from a total knee replacement (2 wks ago), but I have two cars-“Mellow-Yellow” a Fiberfab V-Dub, 1600 dp. and the “Cardinal, front enigined Ford 2000. According to my convoluted math that only makes me 29 &11/24 per car. And that isn’t counting my 46 Chev pickup (work in progress), 68 Chevy Impalla convertable, 92 Ranger and 94 Itasca motorhome. Forgot Dodge Magnum. Hell, I may not be old enough to drive.
February 11, 2012 at 6:15 am #249045I’ll be pushing 50 for another year hope I make it
will be 49 in april
February 11, 2012 at 8:21 am #249046No such thing as too many toys. 2 old sayings come to mind, no clue who actually made them up.
1. The difference between the men and the boys is the price of our toys.
2. The guy that dies with the most toys wins the game.
