    @skater1949

    I will be shopping for a car cover this week. Can anyone direct me to the proper size for a ready made cover. Will a VW cover, or a MG-TD cover fit?

    @ringo

    The “Budge”  brand size 2 from auto zone works great,  almost touches the ground all the way around.

    An MG-TD cover will not fit. Most replicas are a bit larger than the original TD.

    You can either go with a generic as ringo sugggests or buy from someone that custom cuts.

    I believe

    http://www.coverking.com/ and  http://www.carcoverusa.com/

    will create custom-cut covers.

    If you own a TDr and are not in the Registry, please go to https://tdreplica.com/forums/topic/mg-td-replica-registry/ and register (you need to copy and paste the link)

    I had a water resistant fabric cover (lightweight denim) with a soft fuzzy lining. I thought it worked great, but noticed that the cover was wearing on the car body where it was touching. I assume it was dust that was trapped in the lining grinding on the car. I now use a very lightweight UV / water resistant nylon cover that packs into it’s own sewn-in bag about the size of a Frisbee. So far, no wear on the car body. I think the manufacturer is Carmadilla. I bought it new at a Goodwill store for a buck and it fit perfectly (that was a surprise). The cover is similar to parachute material and actually balloons up in a breeze. It looks like the car is breathing under there. The straps attach around the bumpers and under the middle of the car keeping everything covered and in place. I leave the side curtains off the car so it gets fresh air without any sunlight or rain inside. Neat little cover, especially for a buck!

    I bought mine from JC Whitney.

    Measure the car bumper to bumper and order proper size. I ordered the size that supposedly fit my car but is a bit over sized, but covers the car nicely. My car is garaged but I still cover it in the winter. This one was $65 but they do have some that are less costly. Comes with a storage bag.
