    Hey Folks,

I just aquired an MGTD kit car from a friend. It’s a Design Classic Inc., model TD49L81. I could use a couple of pieces of fiberglass components if they are still available. Does anyone know where I can buy body parts for this model? I need the piece that the bumper mounts through in the lower position between the front fenders. I believe it’s called the apron. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, stupid question, but, how do I identify the engine?

    Hi foghorn!

    Welcome aboard!

VW engine numbers are stamped on the crankcase under  the generator support facing the rear. Find that and look it up here:

You didn’t ask, but some info on Design Classics Inc is in this thread:

Someone commented in that thread that the car looks similar to a Fiberfab. So it is possible some parts will interchange. Yourmsot likely source for parts will be Mg Magic. You can find them at:

If you own a TDr and are not in the Registry, please go to https://tdreplica.com/forums/topic/mg-td-replica-registry/ and register (you need to copy and paste the link)
