Next is a new timing belt, I want to paint the covers white too while they are off.   Then, theres the polished alum valve cover, new distrubtor cap, plugs, new 7.5 mm red plug wires, chrome wire holders, new red heater hoses (rerouted of course) and chrome master cyl cover, so far thats all I’ve bought.   Still looking for anything esle I can find polished or chrome for the engine compartment.   Looking at a new airfilter too, what does everyone think about K&N filters, are they worth the extra bucks?  Do they really add hsp?

I’m also looking for some 16 in wire wheels with little offset.  I want to try and get the wheels and tires back inside and under the fenders.

K&N adds a little HP which is great, but most of all you never need to replace them. I am still looking for the right size K&N for my Holley.
It sounds like your engine bay will be looking good. If you find any other good dress up parts let me know. I am trying to find a metal timing belt cover to replace the stock plastic one. Also I am thinking of a new fan…….

        Good Luck, post some pics!

The HP that the K&N “gains” is all in the high RPM range…say near redline RPMS.

But, Geoff is correct, the beauty of them is that you can clean & re-oil them forever (almost, that is)!

There are other brands available, but K&N elements are the benchmark in reusable filters.

The K&N webstie lists dimensions of all of the their filters…all the shapes too.
