    Hi everyone,

I have recently inherited my grandads MG TD kit car that he started building in the 80s in New Zealand. It has been sat in a grage for 30 years but I managed to get it running yesterday only to find out the diff has an issue. Where it mounts to the leaf springs in the rear, part of the diff has snapped off. I am wondering if anyone would know the diff model that goes on an aNissan M72 engine? Im thinking im going to need to try and source a new diff.

    Thanks for the assistance!

    Welcome.

The diff in your car shouldn’t be hard to replace. Scour junkyards for something of similar widths. Most TD kits utilized the Chevette or Pinto/MustangII. Check the mounting pad distance at the spring, although this would be easy to change. The other thing to keep in mind is the bolt circle of the wheels you’re using. Make sure the axles would be compatible.

    Good luck. Post your results.
