Glad it’s running. New springs are in order. Cutting one coil increased the spring weight by ten percent. Cutting the second coil it went up ten percent from that rate. I did that myself and it rode like a rock.

Once more into the breach!
So, after already running a 180* thermostat and being surprised by how hot she runs, i pulled the thermostat and gutted it. In lieu of eliminating it I left the large flange in place and was left with a one inch hole to maintain a small bit of restriction to the flow. Hoping this helps.
I can always go back in and…[Read more]

Ongoing concerns with operating temperatures. If only I could get consistent readings I’d feel a lot better driving it. I’ve put a few miles on it constantly stopping to check temps. I’ve never encountered boil overs or errant steam which is a good thing. It makes me leery to take it any distance.

Here are some photos from the 2018 Carlisle event. Rainy, wet and muddy would describe it. The weather kept a lot of cars away, but a good time was had by all who attended anyway.

I’ll be driving the Subaru, but due to positive thinking, I’ve already plastered my field pass to the MG windshield.

I will probably be towing also, due to lack of drive time as well as the weather. There is a possibility the MG won’t come at all if I can’t resolve issues with the replacement coilovers.
That will piss me off.

You probably won’t believe this, but Basic Rust Oleum is not that far off. Basic off White and Brown. Seriously.

Fitted the front body panels. The hood closes, but it is tight.
Got the fenders back on and the headlamps mounted. The lights work!!
As I was mounting the front bumper brackets and tow bar I noticed something out the corner of my eye.
That ain’t right.
This has obviously been broken for a while. Never noticed or felt a thing. It rode…[Read more]

Clutch issue has been resolved. It just needed persuasion from a giant pair of channel locks. Body panels are now being installed.😁

Well, we replaced the Toyota slave with a much longer Land Rover unit. Initial installation made it almost acceptable to get into gear.
So I took it off the stands and pushed it out into the sunlight. The first it’s seen since August.
Such a beautiful day, we drove to my son’s house.
The exhaust is much too low for my liking, but there is…[Read more]
