Roy, my garage is so small that it wouldn’t accommodate anything resembling a lift, not even this thing.  I can barely fit the car and the motorcycle in and when I do I have no room for anything else.

Hey Bill, Thanks for posting those to the photo group on Flickr.  Great find.

2 things where an electric pump does better. more consistent fuel pressure, also there is less loss of power from the motor because it takes less energy to run the pump. the closer to the tank the better elec. pumps push the fuel better than suck the fuel.

I have a 1983 Fiberfab VW based, with the hood opening up on the passenger side.   I recently had the tank replaced using this tank from JBugs: http://www.jbugs.com/product/113201075AB.html?Category_Code=1961-1967-vw-bug-fuel-tanks.  The filler neck had to be cut down to two and half inches to fit under the hood.
