John, I considered painting my black wheels silver, but seeing your photo,I like the use of the body color on them.

Roy, just get a can of…(wait for it)…caliper paint. High heat and made for just that.I use an acid brush to get to all visible areas. Pick your color.

We addressed that issue at Carlisle last year when the ride home threatened rain. The wiper motors are inadequate at best. Make sure the two speed motor is wired correctly, meaning make sure you have both speeds, and run on High. Rain X is also a plus.

Do not let them balance them using the center cone as mounting on the tire balancer. There are adaptor plates to mount the wheel to and then that adaptor is mounted to the balancer. Find someone with experience with wires.

When I ran wires on mine, I ended up using tubes for the same reason. It kept losing air at the spokes. Tubes can be found (ordered) at tire stores. If the tire store won’t touch your wheels with tubes you need to find another tire store.

Wow, that sits back. The mounting brackets seem way too long, but that’s what it shows in the manual. You can cut the intermediate shaft shorter along with the upper mounting brackets but you’ll need to know where the dash is going to be positioned. That position is what you need to begin shortening it. It’s your car, no two are alike, build it to fit you.

I placed the top in position and then placed the body snaps where the top dictated.

First coat applied today. All the accident damage has now disappeared. These pieces haven’t been all one color in almost 20 years.

Go ahead and say it, Roy. You were the one that won the trophy. You deserved it. With a class just for the TD’s you’ll probably take home another. Look out, though, my repaint is coming along.
