Hey Bill:
Thanks for sharing your idea!
I am a Newbie as well, and knew I had to make some changes as I use my PB religiously in my TDI.
I have looked at dash mount units and other mod styles but have not been impressed with any of them. Now I have to find a welder!
If you come up with a kit let me know.
Thanks,

I agree with you, that the only way to get the front end down is with an adjustable beam.
I was lucky enough to find an OEM unit with German adjusters over at CIP1.
It will be here in a week or so, then I’ll be back to your tuning thread.
Thanks,

I’m in the Raleigh area.
Let’s see, NC, NC — sounds like W-S or close by.
What brand of shocks did you get and where? I’ve been looking, but haven’t found any yet. Are you using an on board compressor or just the air hose?
I’d like to get the rear up, and the front down.
Does this group ever have what we call in the TDI Club GTG’s (Get To Gethers)? It is a great venue for sharing information, and swapping tall tales. From what I have seen, there are a few of us in NC, VA, SC, and GA. I wish the Location info would let us get closer than just USA.
Tell me more about your shocks. I think I am in agreement with Pink, that Coilovers may be a little too harsh.
Thanks

Thanks for the kind words. I think she is kind of “purty” myself!
She started life Red as witnessed by scrapes here and there. She’ll need a re-paint after I get her all dressed up (bumpers, mirrors, latches, radiator shell, etc.), but her new color will be the same.
Silver kind of goes with the roll bars.
Thanks Again

I didn’t think you doubted me, but they are a little hard to describe, and as they say “A picture is worth —“.
I think I will have to get a new windshield to fit a new top. I like the looks of it too, but it DOES get a little breezy. I’m not sure if wind wings would help the situation.
Thanks for the interest, and any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip !
At this point I don’t even have the frame (only two roll bars).
I have used Sunbrella before on my boats, and have found it to be very durable. I think I will get a frame from MG Magic and have it covered locally with Sunbrella.
I have lots of work for some good local upholstery shop. (tonneau and seats for the Bugatti, and tonneau and top for the Migi)
Headed out now to get rid of the “flat spot” so I can go touring tomorrow (70 degrees).
Thanks Again,
Bob -
