Hey Will, Where is Allen at in Washington? We seem to have a quorum now!

I did hear from a TD owner on Salt Spring Island up in the Gulf Islands

(Canadian San Juan Islands). Are you still out there? I had thought the

Cascade loop would be a lovely trip as well. I made trip to Victoria Island

with my 86 year old mother this summer and she was the one who

commented how fun it would have been in the TD. I could not get her out of

the car this summer ! There just happened to be a big car show there in

    August as well.

My poor TD is still “as is” for the most part but so much fun to ride in that I

intend to do just that until I retire in 3 years. That work stuff really gets in

the way of doing the things I would like to do! Let me know if you make any

    plans.    Chuck

In my business (Marriage and Family therapy) Facebook is responsible for

more problems then I care to count ! I vote No for what it’s worth.

Ringo, Can you tell me where you got your steering wheel?

Thanks for the help but I’m still stuck! All of the Grant wheels are dished to

some degree according to the online catalog. The Samba referenced wheel

looks good and appears to be zero-dish but I had my heart set on wood!

Moss Motors has some great models that would look great but they are

Moto-lita style wheels with the rim mount from like a 6 inch rim with

multiple Allen screws.   They also have a nice looking brand called “Tourist

Trophy” that is much more reasonably priced but with very limited adapters.

I really like the look though.

Ringo, love the gauges as well. The white looks really clean. What source

    were these available through?

Hey Pink, We have a West Marine just up the highway in Anacortes. Good tip

to help solve this problem. Chuck N

Rich, Just this evening I found the wings on moss motors. They were not

cheap but if you plug the search above in you will find them !! They sure

    look nice though.

Paul, You are exactly right, there is no gasket and that is perhaps one of the

problems. I will try to do the wiring on the top side once I et the pads. I

ordered the pads and I happened to finally find the windshield wings. I just

“bit the bullet” and bought a set. Thanks again for the help. Chuck

Jennifer, Come spring, sounds like a great drive. Right now the Chuckanut is

blocked with car size boulders since the big rain !   Chuck

Al “Octagon”, I am a “newbie” also but it is a big island so we may not run in

to each other by accident. I made it Ok for you to message me in the “buddy

system” so lets look at comparing notes. I have some big time electrical

problems to chase down too!   Send me a private message and we can get

together. I am heading to Spokane this weekend for work but should be

around otherwise. There is another Northwest Washington person

somewhere I saw in the “gallery” or are you him? Chuck

Paul, Thank you very much for the model ID. I have not seen this model

featured much in the other photos. I am going to try to make the seats I

have work but I suppose the 3 point belts is a “want” not a need.

Thanks for the scoop on brakes. I have not driven it long enough to tell

about the brakes yet. Just trying to look long run. I am going to research

    that model right now !

Hopefully here are some pics. These were the photos used to sell. I bought

it on Craigs list. Traded my motorcycle and some cash !

Thanks for all the replies. I will try to figure out how to attach some

photos. Todd, I am indeed on beautiful Whidbey Island.    Have been here

18 years and have still not seen everything. Dreaming of some nice

drives around the island and out to the San Juans!

I noticed some responses about switching over to disc brakes. I have to

replace the master cylinder anyway and so this may be the time? From

what I read, you have to do both axles and not just the front because of

    weight distribution.

One of my first challenges is to replace the seats and find good 3-point

seat belts for safety sake. The seats were barely fastened to the floor so

the ride home was exciting. Anyone found any good substitute seats that

bolt flat to the floor but still have a classic look ?
