Dittos to Larry: The BCW’s are inside. On Original TDs, the seat backs are relieved to clear the more elaborate original style top bows, which pivot forward so the canvas and bows can all clear the edge of the tub.

Check out those new oscillating tools with a cutting blade. I started using that on my last tear down/rebuild. Cuts nice and can get into tight places.

Looks like good advice but be careful with urethane steering couplers. The common “red” ones sold by VW outfitters tend to disintegrate, I am told.
