OK, I’ve located and e-mailed the director of the local SCCA Region of our desire to run as a group on Saturday morning. If both parties agree this will be a blast. Wobby, if you’re up for a B-B-Q, I’m in. Just let me know what I can do to help.

I just e-mailed Carlisle Event staff about reserving a time slot for Saturday morning allowing us to run as one group. I’ll let you know what the reply is.

I autocrossed on my wires for several years. I  never had a problem. I only took them off to accommodate much larger rubber.

To be “right” the splash pan ought to be horizontal, or close to it. You don’t need to cut the cable either. Mine’s looped and clamped.

Hey, maybe a Chevette diesel was his driver and just swapped everything over. Nobody ever said any of us were smart.

Apparently nothing is on the schedule for Saturday. Would putting the autocross off until Saturday morning be out of the question? This would free up Friday for the various cruises. I’m easy.

I think there is a covered bridge tour at some point–maybe Friday a.m. I’m going on that.AutoX afternoon.

Can’t imagine why anyone would build it diesel. Maybe a TDI VW or Mercedes… but a Chevette? An ’80s US diesel car? Everyone knew those were junk even back in the day. They were junk compared even to the incredibly junky junk that normal gas powered cars were then!God, what an awful automotive time it was.

Decent runners are $3500 plus or minus. So that car is more like $2000, depending on the powertrain. Looks like he got the body on nice.

Less then a hour from me – go by the all the time – wish it had been around when I purchased my TD – would have saved me a ton of work. 3000.00 seems a little high for a unfinished project car. I know he spent a lot more if he purchased new.
