It can be done, and has been–even in a Westy. (see the last post on this thread). With some grinding and stuff the 34 can go on a 1915, according to this vid. Seems like a lot of work though when a two-bbl progressive can be had for cheap money.edsnova2013-02-17 18:22:55

Fiberglass grille?

After my last accident I replaced my Fiberfab grille shell with one from an original TD. It had to be modified for the hood to close. The fenders had gaps around the grille shell.

Bill, it’d be great to meet you. I’m going to book a B&B somewhere nearby and try to do a 3-4 day weekend with my wife.

The Speedsters are gonna be big this year too cause it’s their 10 year (?) Carlisle anniversary.

You’re looking at grill slats, I think, (PN 454-170) not the outer shell. That’s the hard-to-get item.Slats in original TDs were originally painted. Hence the zinc plating. I know looking at the diagram on the Moss page it looks like you’re buying the outer shell (I had to look at it carefully again), but there is a reason that PN 454-757 is…[Read more]

Just FYI, everyone: Richard Wobby tells me by email he is planning to make Carlisle with Mrs. Wobby and a 10×10 or 10×20 stand-alone canopy. Sends regrets that he’s not been active on the board but “very busy” with two new businesses and a racing venture.I expect we’ll hear all about it in May.So if everyone makes it as planned that’s 8…[Read more]

Jack, just doing a little research. I happen to have a boat and a trailer. The boat weighs 1500 lbs or so and with the boat removed I can pick up the trailer by myself and move it into the middle of a parking space–and often need to do so.Your Bugeye weighs less than 1500 lbs so the trailer that carries it should not need to weigh any more than…[Read more]

Congrats, Jack. Hope to see you in Carlisle. Not sure about flat towing the Bugeye since it’s not a Bug. No chance you’ll drive it? There is a Speedster caravan coming north & I’m sure they would welcome you.

I don’t think the TD shape would lend itself easily to bed conversion.
These things tend to be sled-shaped after the early ’70s Can-Am cars.I suppose you could make something vaguely TD-ish with a twin mattress in it, but it’d be a stretch in every sense of the word. Now, an MGA might be doable…

I have a small one. I think it’s 8’x8′. At least it could provide some shade.

Re the tent, I was under the impression that Wobby had one and would bring. I will double-check.

I have a nice pop up I can bring if I flat tow vs. drive this year – hopefully I will be driving – it all depends on who is coming w/ me ( my son or wife ). Roy – I know you are coming up from the south – anyone else? maybe we should set up a caravan
