Me too – man that would save some room for storage! Also – I always wondered why they left the leg room shorter on the passenger side? Seems they could have extended it some – one of my some day fixes.  

I can’t tell from the photos as to what rear you’re running. As a note of caution, the popular 6-3/4″ ring gear used in the Pinto is rather weak. Once I hotrodded my motor I started blowing those things apart. Don’t know what your plans are other than a larger engine, but please consider a beefier component for your build.

The way to do it is with a flatbar frame like the original TDs had. Near the front of the door, on the inside, are little clamp plates like these. A good Auto Trim shop can supply the correct plastic. I drove mine for years as a daily driver. Parked outside in the weather and driven year round. Remember the winter of ’95-’96? The correct plastic will outlast the zippers.

As I have the old single relief, case, single port heads and the old school fan shroud I’m guessing I should have that timing quirk–but don’t know if I do.
