Def need 5-6 more pics. Need a December shot, Feb, March and May–maybe May. Does anyone have anything from Carlisle? We had a lot of TDs there, but I did not bring the right camera & so don’t have anything with enough pixels.I’m probably going to do this on Bighugelabs again, like last year. Thinking of this for the cover shot
(but only ’cause I…[Read more]

Jeez. What an amazing story. And here I am struggling with getting a couple bathroom fans installed.

Mine has some sound deadener. It’s still very much louder with the top up than down. Loud both ways but very much so with the top up. No idea how to make it less so. Well, maybe another layer of fiberglass insulation on top of the well behind the seats?

Why not take measurements off the cloth top and build it out of red oak and 1/4-inch marine plywood & then glass & spray the outside? Fun fall project.Only problem is, then you’ll be looking for those fancy-pants “roll up” windows. I don’t know where it all ends. . . .

I give and get waves and flashes to old car drivers and sports car drivers regularly. I’ve found that ’60s muscle car guys almost always look and nod with polite respect, but Brit car drivers pretty much go crazy. One day in August I was in midtown Baltimore getting on the highway to visit a guy running for mayor. Behind me was a dude in a…[Read more]

I’d like to hear more about the GEX too. I have heard some unflattering things about them. Was your engine new & came “scarred up” from the builder?

The Allison design appears to be an exact copy of the TD’s. I have side curtain envy. They also have the very correct dash with glove box. That said, the curtains don’t get used much, and the framed ones look like they’d be hard to store in my car, which also lacks the awesome, coffin-sized front trunk area enjoyed by Allison Daytona owners of the…[Read more]

I’ve used mine a time or two and , like Paul, find that just unzipping the top a couple feet and unsnapping the windshield fasteners allows me to get in. I had not known about the tool, but reaching out to re-snap the three windshield snaps is really very easy. That said, even in pretty good rain, I tend to run without the curtains. Not much water…[Read more]

Six bolts? Like an old GM (Corvette) hub?Oh. Lafer. So actually, you have a Bug column. Grant has an adaptor for that. I think you have to call or email them & they’ll tell you what PN to buy in order to get whatever wheel on it.Unfortunately, wheels do cost.
