Turns out the 40 Ford banjo wheels will fit a VW hub
with just a little filing.  17-inch wheel and apparently available in

That’s what I’m talking about. That material is in my scrap bin, so my cost would be about $0 + a half hour of fiddling with the jig saw.

The other way on this is to get a length of hardwood ply and cut a hole in it in the shape of your spinners. There’s your wrench.

They made ’em for the MG too; they’re rare and expensive now.I suspect there is a reason you don’t see a lot of blowers on these cars today, and I suspect the reason has to do with heat and parts failures. If you have one of those spray ends that has different choices use the one labeled (flat spray) and that way it is easy to spray down w/o getting the
inside wet. I don’t even have a top and clean mine all the time in this
manner.
