I had a PV-544 sedan back in the 60’s.  Got my racing start in it.  A truly bullet proof engine,  Looked like a transistorized 48 Ford seddan.

I bought auto loop carpet on Ebay for $16 per yard. We vacationed (camped) in Door County Wisc in early June one year.  It was cold!  A shopkeeper told us that we came up too early for summer.  We asked when summer was, at which point he asked his wife “honey, summer was on a Thursday last year wasn’t it?”.  Beautiful country, we have gone several times.  Usually in July or August

Agree!  Although you don’t think you can do a lot of this stuff.you can!  The expertise is here, the help is here.  Vast, and halfvast knowledge is available free.  Most of us have learned, somewhat painfully in a lot of situations, how to do a few things and are willing to share.  Ask for help, I’ll guarantee you will get it!

Had it happen to mine!  Turned out to be the brake hose.  Sometimes they will delaminate inside and the rubber lining drops down and blocks the return of fluid.  Mine looked as good as new.

They even put them on standard bugs.  It keeps a rag that you use to check oil. apiece of insulation that you put on the firewall to keep it quieter inside the bug etc.  Many engines have thrown up after ingesting a piece of debris.  The last I heard was a plastic bag.  $10 screen-$1200 engine……….sounds like a good bet to me.

The 80 in the tire size is the aspect ratio.  80 is 80% of the width, so if the tires are 165 as opposed to 145 (millimeters) they should be 80% of 20 millimeters, or 16 millimeters x 2 (top and bottom) taller.

165SR15 is the stock size (new designation) for a VW bug also.  Most shops that specialize in VWs carry them.  I bought mine at Big O.  The ones from mass marketers tend to be n ewer than those from companies like Coker, but that is not always the case.  Ask them to read you the date code.
