If you can not find a original frame some were then you might check with the Speedway catalog, some of the American roadsters and hot rods had fold down frames. They also sell the hardware with it. Plan on spending a few bucks and a lot of modifying ( but it is worth it ) Bill

If you have the boat type top that came with the kit,or the kit wind shield you may not be able to install them. Most of the items can be found at Speed Way motors.A motor, arm, and blade is $29.99,the catalog
also has wind shields and other goody’s in it.Good luck. BillJune 16, 2009 at 12:10 pm #239006I installed a lift arm that lays along the bumper and is out of sight
until in use, very easy fix,I will post it tomorrow with the hood latch.

I am now removing the boat latches and hinges from the hood and have already removed the towel bar from the front, they are a bit hokie to say the least. I have thought about moving the look a like gas tank back about 2 inches for more engine room, that would be a easy change. I have also put spacers under the tire rack that lift it about 1 3/4 inches
so the hot engine air can escape more easy around the tire and not just through the rim holes. The last items to add are tank straps and a tire rack, then it will be complete. Thanks again. Bill

Sorry for the delay on the answer, yes it is a fiberfab kit. I have ordered a Haartz MG top tan to install with the windshield. The old Bimini boat
frame is coming off and I am making a folding frame as on the 1952. I
have found some great pictures of the frame and it looks fairly easy to
reproduce as it is made from flat 3/4 inch steel stock, and so are the curtain frames. I will post when finished. I want to add tank straps to the rear tank and lose the hinges and locks on the hood. The body on the fiberfab kits are very close in measurements to the real car.Good luck.
BillApril 10, 2009 at 12:06 pm #238625Rich, I think there is about 3.75 inches but it looks closer because of the pine straw that I am sitting on. Thanks. Bill
April 6, 2009 at 3:24 pm #238517Drove it for a few hours and no warmer then any floor
with the engine in the front and the pipes running all
the way back. They are mounted about 2 1/2 inches
from the floor.April 5, 2009 at 5:37 pm #238515Ringo, I had thought about posting it on utube and I will let
you no when I do it. Luck. BillMarch 22, 2009 at 5:36 pm #238475Paul, Wish you were!!

March 18, 2009 at 10:49 am #238418Hey Guys, yes about the wipers, look in speedway catalog. They have a motor that is close to the real one with a 90% sweep and short arms the rest I will build. My dash is out and I am building a center as on the real 52, but instead of brass I will use abalone, you can check with Alsa Corp on there FXsheeting, it is great stuff. The nice thing is with the net you can find anything. I will post photos as I move along. Luck, Bill
March 17, 2009 at 3:42 pm #238414The Tee seal can be found just about anywhere it is a common type seal used on t-bucket rods and elsewhere.Luck.

The cowl had a flat raised spot on each side and a 1/2 inch by 3X1 1/2 steel insert bonded in.After removing it I shaped the sides to fit with glass and also glassed the under side. I will use backing plates when I install the unit. My surprise was when the square was removed the wind shield fit to a tee. If I had not found the 52 windshield I was going to use one out of a hot rod book, they are very much alike and if you shop around you will be surprised as to what is out there.I will post more later.Good luck.
BillMarch 10, 2009 at 12:50 pm #237767I lucked out and found a complete 1952 frame with side mounts on e-bay, now must have it chromed and add glass. After looking at the side mounts I think with a few mods they could work with the fiberfab frame.Nice car you have there. Good luck. Bill
March 6, 2009 at 7:58 pm #238334Just a note on what I have planed for my MiGi kit. I just bought a complete 1952 MG windshield with all brackets less glass, I will have to have it chromed first before installation. I also will add a fuel cap on the engine cover left side as on a real 52 MG, and last I am working on a dash center and am cutting it out of a door kick plate from Lowes. Fiberfab just stopped short on a few things that we can do so when the motor is off it looks like the real thing. I really love my kit and it runs and drives very well. Thanks for the feed back. Good luck.
